The death certificate consists of two parts. The medical portion is filled out by the GCME and the demographic portion is filled out by the Funeral Home. Once the death certificate is completed and signed the funeral home is responsible for filing it with the Department of Vital Statistcs. The GCME only signs death certificates of persons who die in Galveston County.
The Texas Supreme Court has mandated all attorneys to electronically file documents in a Galveston County Civil/Family/Provate cases through an electronic filing service provider certified by the Office of Court Administration. State law requires that trailers or semi-trailers weighing 4,000 pounds or less must be registered but not titled. Trailers or semi-trailers of any weight used for farm or ranch purposes must be registered, but are not required to be titled. Untitled trailers are not special vehicle inventory.
